Creating a Better World for Animals

We are a “no-kill” animal rescue facility, operating in the southern metro-Atlanta area.

Support Love

Double Impact

This Valentine’s Month, you can show love where it’s needed most, and make twice the impact for animals in need. Our generous supporters, Paul & Karen Kelly have offered to match every donation to Street Paws dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000. That means our community has the opportunity to raise $20,000 to improve the lives of the animals we serve. Just imagine the impact!

Important update

Street Paws has been asked to step in and help support the operations at Clayton County Humane Society. We are in the process of a merger where Street Paws will be the surviving entity.

Here’s how Supporters can help right now:🐾 Adopt or Foster
Opening your home saves lives and helps relieve pressure on both organizations during this transition.

We want to acknowledge Robin Rawls, who has given nearly 28 years of her life to Clayton Humane. She made the decision to retire for her own health and did so with the animals’ best interests at heart.

🤍 Donate
Supporting Street Paws right now helps us cover food, medical care, staffing, and operational costs as we stretch to meet increased needs. "See first comment on ways to donate."

🙌 Be a Positive Voice
Sharing posts, offering encouragement, and helping keep conversations respectful truly makes a difference. Transitions are fragile — kindness matters.

Thank you for standing with us as we take on this work — not because it’s easy, but because it’s needed.

With gratitude,

Kristi

Adoption Spotlights

Bruno Needs Us!

Bruno, a 9-month-old shepherd mix, was hit by a car and left without proper care—until the Clayton County Humane Society stepped in. After undergoing life-saving surgery to repair multiple leg fractures, Bruno is finally on the path to healing. We're a small but passionate rescue, and we need your help to cover the $5,500 vet bill—every donation makes a difference for animals like Bruno.

How you can help

CCHS is dedicated to improving animal welfare in a variety of ways. Our work is inspired by the support and commitment of our volunteers and community members who share our passion for animal rescue.

Adopt an Animal

We have wonderful cats and dogs eagerly awaiting adoption to suitable and loving homes.  All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, sterilized, microchipped, and receive appropriate vaccines.  Additionally, dogs are tested for heartworms, and cats are tested for feline leukemia/aids.  We do it all for you.  After you adopt your new pet, you have nothing to do but love them, care for them, and allow them to be your best friend.

Become a benefactor

Your support is essential to the continued success of CCHS. As a 501 (c)(3) organization, every donation you make is tax-deductible and directly benefits the animals in our care. Your financial contributions help us to provide food, shelter, medical care, and other essential services to the animals, and ensure that we can continue rescuing animals in need. You can donate using the form below or learn more about

Volunteer

At CCHS, we depend on our volunteers to help us carry out our mission of rescuing animals and finding them loving homes. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, including volunteering at our shelter, participating in events, or working at our thrift store. Our volunteers are an integral part of our organization, and we couldn't do it without them!

Shelter Building Temporarily Closed — Adoptions & Donations Continue

We’re continuing to care for animals and serve our community, but the physical shelter is not open to the public at this time.
  • Adoptions: Still happening by appointment. You can view adoptable pets and full out an application online.

  • Donations: Still gratefully accepted online and in person by arrangement.

  • Currently, we are unable to accept any new animals due to overcapacity. Do not leave animals on this property. Animal abandonment is illegal and punishable by law.
